First American has an opportunity for a Title Officer in their Anchorage, Alaska team.
- Title officers are responsible in dealing with title issues of a moderately complex nature.
- Make decisions which may incur substantial liability/commitment on the part of the Company.
- Interprets underwriting policies and makes decisions whether to insure within underwriting guidelines.
- May Supervise the title unit, anticipate the workload, assign personnel where needed.
- Anticipates possible problems affecting title, makes judgments, seeking technical guidance from more senior technical and underwriting staff when beyond own moderate technical expertise.
- Reviews and approves policy write-ups prior to recordation.
- Is experienced with rural properties and metes and bounds descriptions.
- May perform routine title examination and write title commitments.
Job Qualifications - Successful candidate will possess at least 5 years of title experience or experience in a related field.
- Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Detail oriented with strong computer skills.
- Team player.
