As a member of the Corporate Underwriting Department, provide underwriting support, direction and training for all business channels relating to all products and programs. Also, provide transactional underwriting advice and direction, specifically for high liability commercial transactions. Scope of responsibility is nationwide.

• Provides underwriting advice to offices and agents
• Demonstrates experience in handling complicated commercial transactions, including in the areas of creditors’ rights and mechanics’ lien underwriting
• Prepares bulletins and underwriting guidelines
• Prepares policy products and related agreements
• May occasionally review and coordinate work with outside counsel
• Monitors underwriting standards to account for changes in laws, regulations, standards and various rulings from governmental agencies
Job Qualifications • State bar admission is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree and law degre is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 10+ years underwriting experience in the title insurance industry with a focus on commercial underwriting
• Broad knowledge of real property laws and title insurance regulations nationwide
• Sound decision making and problem solving skills
• Experience making underwriting decisions in complicated transactions
• Strong leadership presence with excellent communication skills
• Ability to interact with customers at outside law firms and companies on a senior level
• Ability to build relationships and ensure cooperation across business channels nationwide
• Ability to work independently to achieve goals and objects
